The other day, perhaps a payday, I stopped by City Market NW in the rather trendy Alphabet Neighborhood of northwest Portland. City Market NW is the kind of place you should ONLY stop by on pay day, and only then if the credit card bill is not due that same week.

Kroger and affiliated stores are offering $10 off for every $100 in selected gift cards bought until December 13, 2009. Limit five $10 rewards per household, need to have shopper's card.

Participating stores include City Market, Dillons, Jay C, Food 4 Less, Fred Meyer, Fry's, King Soopers, QFC, Ralphs and Smith's. Valid retailers are: Applebee's, Bass Pro Shops, Bath & Body Works, Best Buy, iTunes, Sears, and Spa Finder.

I would also check on eBay as I know iTunes gift certificates can be cheap there, but it would seem like 10% off of Best Buy or Sears gift cards could come in handy. [Source]

Build-outs and Raids and Porters, Oh My! by Patrick Alan Coleman Viande Meats and Sausage has pulled up steaks (ha!) from City Market in order to relocate to a new Eastside location. The location remains undisclosed, but Viande partner Jason Owens told the Mercury that construction would begin this week on a building, owned by Viande, on East Burnside. P.S. Last month, a blog reader called me to discuss the average market times because his properties were taking longer than the average. Keep in mind, these are averages only- and that the true average is probably a bit higher because I'm sure some re-listing (canceling the listing and re-listing the same property with a new MLS number to make it look new to the market) is taking place.
