As many manufacturers scale down, Vancouver-based Columbia Machine Inc. has acquired the primary assets of Santa Ana, Calif.-based Foster Equipment Co. and developed a manufacturing services division in hopes of growth.

Ride by the old apple tree and check out the new pedestrian bridge over Highway 14 to the apple tree, meander through down town Vancouver in the area of the Farmers Market, east on Evergreen and Fifth streets to Wintler park. Returning by way of the Renaissance water front trail.
