TIN HOUSE

The mission of Tin House magazine and Tin House Books remains constant: To publish compelling and authentic narratives of our time. Tin House salutes the artistic edge but remains rooted in the tenets of the classic storytelling tradition.

Also an annual one week intensive writers workshop, usually in July.

The Dart League King (Tin House Books) is an intriguing tale of darts, drugs, and death. The characters in Keith Lee Morris's second novel struggle to find the balance between accepting and controlling their destinies, but their fates are threaded together more closely than they realize. "[A] sensitive, cleverly constructed novel of small-town life and big-league dreams," hails Booklist (starred review).

Portland's Tin House Books has a new title out: Win McCormack's You Don't Know Me: A Citizen's Guide to Republican Family Values. He'll read from it tonight (Friday) at Powell's Burnside, at 7:30. From the Powell's site:

"Shocking, illuminating, and profoundly disturbing, Win McCormack's You Don't Know Me (Tin House Books) details over one hundred cases of sexual misconduct by Republican officials, office holders, and ideological supporters. 'Win McCormack reveals the true hypocrisy and depravity of those who love to quote the Bible but act like Caligula,' hails Arianna Huffington. Win McCormack is publisher and editor-in-chief of Tin House magazine."
